Whilst they were unable to earn themselves the title of the best team in England, they were able to conquer all of Europe. They won the Champions League in Madrid by beating Tottenham 2-0, meaning they became the European champions for the sixth time in their history.
In Jurgen Klopp’s team, there were plenty of star performers. So much so, 10 of the Anfield outfit’s players have been nominated for the UEFA Fans’ Team of the Year award. They are Alisson, Andrew Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum.
However, it appears a lot of the club’s supporters are unhappy with the fact Joel Matip was not included. He played 31 matches in all competitions last term.
