Anthony Gordon followed his two goals for Everton’s Under-23s against Arsenal Under-23s last Friday by scoring against Mansfield Town in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday night.
The Young Blues ultimately recorded a 4-1 win on penalties to get off to a winning start, and it was yet another positive night for Gordon.
The 18-year-old has started the 2019-20 campaign extremely well.

And when Everton’s official Twitter account drew attention to Gordon’s two goals against Arsenal last week, a number of the club’s supporters responded.
Many have called on head coach Marco Silva to hand the teenager another chance in the first team, having made his Toffees debut back in December 2017 in the Europa League.
Indeed, a number of the fans felt that tonight’s EFL Cup clash against Lincoln City would have been the perfect opportunity for Gordon to be given some first-team minutes.

However, his involvement on Tuesday night makes that almost impossible.
